You don’t reach 90 years of age without bringing a lot of sweat and work throughout your career. With Acipi (Commercial and Industrial Association of Piracicaba) it is no different. This Friday (7) the inauguration of the entity’s new building will take place. On Sunday (9), the nine-decade anniversary arrives. And it was precisely on a Sunday, July 9, 1933, that the association was created. Since then, it has worked to defend the interests of Piracicaba’s commerce, industry and service companies.
The challenge, faced by a completely volunteer board, of constantly working on strategies that promote the growth of those represented, adds to the effort to engage in projects that result in the generation of jobs and income. It is a traditional entity that, over the years, has modernized, maintaining professionalism and ethics. Acipi is synonymous with variation and innovation, a reflection of the achievements achieved throughout its history. A living organism, which participates in causes related to the economic and social development of the city.
“Acipi is part of the history of the local economy. One example is the creation of the RMP (Metropolitan Region of Piracicaba). In May 2021, an entity held a public hearing to create the PGR. Consequently, we must act with more force to keep it attractive and Acipi has the role of supporting its represented segments and also collaborating with actions that positively impact the region in general”, says president Marcelo Cançado, president of the Association.
“Acipi has built a very strong relationship with the city, representing commerce, services and industry in all areas, from micro to large companies. It is an entity that contributes to the development of these companies, whether in terms of consultancy, training, legal aspects, agreements. Acipi also helps entrepreneurs, employees and their families. On this journey, he created a strong bond with the community”, says Luiz Carlos Furtuoso, president of the Advisory Council.
With the aim of promoting the economic development of the city and its associated companies, Acipi provides various services and benefits. Medical, dental and student insurance; partnership in internship positions and for minor apprentices, credit protection service for individuals and legal entities (SCPC – Central Credit Protection Service); digital certification; issuance of Certificate of Origin; discount card; legal advice; short-term and postgraduate courses (Lato Sensu and MBA); trainings; offices; lectures and spaces with modern structure for rent. There are almost 7,000 members, which allows them to control the increasingly competitive market.
In 2006, the association created its regional office in the district of Santa Teresinha, thus marking the decentralization of services provided at its headquarters. The regional office offers training rooms and a service desk for SCPC inquiries. In addition to facilitating access to services, it also helps in the development of entrepreneurs in that region. If Acipi celebrates 90 years, the people who win the gift are the people.
NEW MODERN BUILDING OPENING THIS FRIDAY (7)
Designed by architect João Paulo Meirelles de Faria, from Vereda Arquitetos, the new Acipi (Piracicaba Commercial and Industrial Association) building has almost six thousand square meters of built area – there are two basements, the ground floor and three other floors.
The company responsible for the work, which lasted almost two years, is Construcione. The new building is attached to the current one and will be located at Rua Prudente de Morais, 463, Centro.
“With the new space, our objective is, above all, to improve the quality of the services provided, in addition to creating new business opportunities for its members”, explains the president of Acipi, Marcelo Cançado.
The basements have 100 parking spaces. The ground floor will house the social space and, on the remaining three floors, offices. The building also has a cafeteria (on the ground floor) open to employees and the external public.
According to Cançado, the entity’s new space embodies the spirit of a new time, focused on exchanging information, training and valuing business. The installed offices will be multifunctional, always focusing on member integration and collective learning.
“We are going to invest in new technologies and learn to make the best of what they offer us, thus aligning the perspectives of the services sector so that it becomes more competitive. All projects will be designed to bring viable ideas to life that add value and Acipi will thus be able to be an increasingly closer and stronger partner in facing the demands of each business sector”, he reveals.
Architect João Paulo, who signed the project, was the winner of a competition held by the entity to identify trends and solutions. “The aim of the competition was to be an intelligent building, capable of adapting to different needs. All of this reflects on your infrastructure. The aesthetics of exposed concrete gives the work an air of modernity. The raised floor technology and open columns, without walls, make it versatile and highly functional”, explains the coordinator
